For those following along with my very own cougartown episode, after a week since we initially had to take a break following her son's reaction to discovering our relationship in an unexpected way, just wanted to update everyone that we've continued talking and seeing one another after a bit of cooling down on her family's end.

It never really was a complete end to things. She and I had been texting and talking on the phone over the past week while also seeing one another at the gym. Her ex-husband has absolutely no problem with our relationship. He's currently seeing a woman who is younger (he's 51, his girlfriend is 42) but only had concerns about their son's response and where that all came from. The son is headed back to college in a week, and apparently he had a breakup over the summer he's still getting over, so his reaction probably had less to do with our circumstance and more to do with what's going on in his life and being very emo about it all. Both parents agree he just needs some space and there's no reason for she and I to stop seeing one another, but maybe lay low in our habits, which means more time with her coming over my place.

She also revealed the reason she was so quick to say we should stop things is because she's been falling for me hard, and a bit of that scared her. That feeling is reciprocated in terms of the feelings but I'm not afraid of it. She also was wondering what my goals were in life in terms of parenthood, and she was afraid that she was preventing me from pursuing that, but I told her I'm more concerned with finding the right person. Last night was the first time since the almost-break we spent the evening and overnight together. She demanded I finish inside of her. I took that to mean she trusts us going forward.

I'm just so relieved I am not having to be single again because I was staring down the dating app life over the past week, and it's grim out there.
