Hey everyone, I'm 28M and my partner is 43F. We've been dating for three years now and it's been great so far!
I could use some words of encouragement because finding other people in age gap relationships can be kind of difficult. We are both kind of doing it without any role models and we both are doing our best but hearing some stories from others in relationships would be reassuring.
I keep coming across many threads on reddit in which any age gap relationship is met with disgust and sometimes it feels like we are totally alone out there. I'd like to know that this could actually work out and that we do have a future and sometimes that kind of negativity gets me down and makes me wonder if it would be best if we stopped seeing each other.
We love each other and are very strong. We keep talking about how it would have been nice if it was an alternate reality and she married me instead of her ex. How she wishes I was the father to her kids instead of him and all that. We are incredibly happy together and feel like we are the perfect match for each other. The ONLY thing is the age gap, which is kind of a big thing...and the negativity makes it seem even bigger.
I know I'm rambling, I'm not great at writing these things. I'm just hoping to hear some success stories out there somewhere. Thanks everyone.
