Hey guys, wanted to just ask a question to anyone that sees this. So I'm actually a 24 year old male from the Caribbean and have been acquainted with an older woman from the US. Quick backstory is that I lost my dad when I was 16 years old and a week after that which is my mom's birthday, she kinda lost it and moved out. So I've been taking care of myself ever since. And being from an island is not that easy. But I met this 45 year old woman through Youtube and we eventually got to talking and one day turned into two, turned into 2 weeks, turned into a year that we are talking and we basically have a long distance relationship at this point. I've never asked her for money or for anything although she has offered a few times to help out but I have this thing in my head through my experiences in life that people would do things for you and hold it over you to control you. However she wants to take it a step further and she wants me to come to the US which I would love because it would be a chance to change my life, but I'm super nervous to take this chance because what if it doesnt work out. Ive had an unfortunate life and I am just not able to get my hopes up about anything. I'd love to hear people's opinions on my situation, maybe some will have words of encouragement, maybe some will be realistic. In my heart I want to take the chance because I really do like her alot, but my brain is just telling me dont.
