Hi. I'm currently planning out a 7-10 day "god I hope COVID is over" trip for Late August with my family of 4. The kids are in elementary school. I imagine we'd rent a car at the airport and drive to La Fortuna for a few nights, then drive to a resort on the beach for the second half of the trip. I have some questions:
I can get direct flights to Libera or San Jose for the same price. Given that, I'd prefer Liberia, because I'd love to avoid the big city. Am I right about that?
Any suggestions for resorts? We're a bit spoiled, and have been looking at options like the Four Seasons, the Andaz, and the Hotel Punta Islita.
Should we add a third destination? I don't like to rush so I figured 2 places in 7-10 days was the right balance.
I know August is a little rainy, but when it rains in Costa Rica, is it sporadically on a random day like in Florida or does it rain for multiple days a row like in the northeast?
Any other suggestions for first time visitors? Thank you so much!
