Been reading a bunch of posts on here, and it seems like there’s really no “bad” ideas in Costa Rica. It just depends on what the individual wants to do.
My real question issss La Fortuna vs MA. I know they are both incredible, but because it’s going to be early December is it the same thing? Or is the rainy season going to upset either one?
I’m leaning towards the mountain cause this vacation for me is about relaxing. I was thinking of staying in spas and soaking, enjoying views and maybe going on a few hikes.
Would love any and all recommendations! I was suppose to go to Europe the summer before last and didn’t, so I have quite a bit saved up and I’m excited to splurge.
I’ll also have just finished a big filming project so I’m just excited to relax!
Thanks! 🙏 😊
Big questions for a week trip:
1 - should I rent a car?
2 - LF vs MA
3- are there fun hikes and waterfalls in LF?
4- airbnb vs resort? I’m leaning towards resort for less stress this trip even though normally I’m big on not 🤔
5- any hidden gems you’d rec for the season!
Baha no tons are agreeing with you lol. Sounds like I may opt out of having a car!
Someone is downvoting everything on here, which is really annoying lol
And ok!!! Thanks so much for all of this!! I’m being swayed to do la fortuna, and I’ll look into a hike and such!!
Is that something I reserve ahead of time?
So just get a ride out there? What if I want to explore! I’m worried I’ll be stuck in your groups the whole time… I kind of like finding stuff and exploring a bit :ap
I like driving and more so like independence :P so I’m leaning that way… but I’m paying like $40/day idk how some people seem to be paying no money
Should I reserve ahead of time for that? If so who did you go with?
That’s a reallly interesting idea!! Damn is that something I can grab day of or do you need to reserve a person?
Oh that’s not a bad drive! Love this advice! I’ll check out Tabacon. I’d heard about the Royal Corin as well?
I love the rain! Especially enjoy a jungle rain! Is the coast less or more rainy?
I’m imagining laying in a thermal pool while it rains is incredible
Super appreciate this post! A lot of the resorts were booked up! I think I’m considering Nayara or something like that?
Awesome thank you so much for the info!!! I’ll check out this spot!
Incredible, deeply appreciate the written out thoughts. And sorry, is the resort your rec called “the springs” 🤔

How do you get to a resort though, is it easy to get from San Jose into the mountains without a car?
And I may want to peel out and go on some adventures so a car seemed good!
