I was wondering if anyone else held this unpopular opinion. But I absolutely hate the flashback chapters. I feel like they rip me out of the story. I find the information in them useful and interesting in their own right. And they give useful context to certain characters. But I would much rather read them as standalone novellas ala arcanum unbound. Anytime I was happily reading along and reach a flashback chapter I usually find myself rolling my eyes and setting the book down until my next reading session. Loving the books otherwise.
Anyone else have this opinion or am I alone?
