Need advice repairing C5 weatherstrip

I've a 2003 C5Z and I recently noticed water getting under seats on both sides. I saw crack in the rubber weatherstrip and I'm planning on using silicone sealant. Has anyone ever fixed their weatherstrip by themselves and can give me a few tips?
