Here is an email I got from them:

Our volunteers are paramount to the success of the services we provide, whether in the kitchen, dining hall or the thrift store. Your safety is a top priority for us and therefore in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation we want to be sure that the correct steps are being taken to ensure guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) are being followed.

We have been working with the City of Las Vegas, Clark County and the State of Nevada to follow their lead on the situation and protocols. The senior management team of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission has been working diligently to put protocols in place.

See below for actions already in place or being taken, effective immediately:

All residents are required to frequently wash their hands for 20 seconds before, during and after their work therapy shifts, as well as before and after meal services and interactions with the public

This has been in effect for quite some time and more diligent cleaning schedules of all buildings remain in place regardless of COVID-19.

All shelter and outside guests are required to wash their hands and/or use sanitizer prior to entering our facilities and prior to all meal services

Donations of hand sanitizer, bar or liquid soap from the community would be gratefully received at this time

We require all volunteers to adhere to the hand washing policy that is outlined on the waiver you are required to re-sign before signing up for new shifts. It is very important to the welfare of our volunteers, residents and staff, that if you are exhibiting any symptoms of fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, influenza, stomach flu or a cold etc.; that you cancel your shift via the VolunteerHub portal, to limit your contact with the population on our property.

Please be assured we are continuing to monitor the ongoing situation and working with the City of Las Vegas, Clark County and the State of Nevada along with the CDC. We are taking the steps needed to keep everyone safe; from those we serve and those who help us serve.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Heather Williams, Director of Development at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) or 702-320-2089.
