I have a ParaGard generic for 7 months now, today is my 4th period day and flow is light. When I wiped today I saw a tiny hair strand-like foreign object mixed with my menstrual blood and mucus. It was a bit “curved”, just like how the copper wire is coiled around the device. It was also dark and hard in texture. I’ve seen some pictures of old copper IUDs after removal and the copper gets dark from oxidation. The appearance of the fragment matched that. I have an ultrasound scheduled for this month and I’ll return to my doctor but I’d like to know if someone had an experience like this and if this is ok. TIA.
