Flow returned to normal after 2 months but cramps remain heavier

Just want to hear other people’s experiences after a few months with the copper IUD. This is my second month with it. I feel like I bled more during my first period and now it calmed down to the point where the bleeding pattern is the same as without the IUD (I naturally had medium to light flow) but the cramps remain heavier than without the IUD. Before getting it, I NEVER needed painkillers, my girl friends used to joke by saying I was “the chosen one”. Now I need painkillers, sometimes two pills at a time medicinal tea. I look at my pads and I wonder how little blood can cause so much pain lol.
