When making chicken parmigiana with pasta

Not a veteran nor a newby to cooking but this is a first time for me making chicken parm, my grandfather made it really good and was his favorite. With his passing Iā€™d like to learn to make it. When breading the chicken do I use a wet dredge or just put flour or should I do a flour then egg wash then bread crumbs ? Iā€™m looking for the most authentic and best tasting way to make this dish, please help me thank you
