Heavy cream substitute

I love a good creamy pasta, but I struggle with dairy. I am usually fine with most hard cheeses, but cream does me in, so I only like to splurge for it when Iām willing to withstand the pain. So Iām wondering what, if anything, is a substitute for cream in something like a creamy pasta. I would even settle for a mediocre substitute. I would really appreciate your ideas!
