Tips for cooking without garlic or onion? Parosmia triggers
Post Body

Hi! Me and my girlfriend both had Covid last year, and while I was left without any long-term effects (as far as I know), she unfortunately developed a condition that makes certain foods smell and taste repulsive. Her strongest triggers happen to be garlic and onion, which we are now realizing is in pretty much everything. We have tried just removing the garlic and onion from what we usually eat, but it just makes everything taste bland. Does anyone know of any recipes that don't rely on garlic & onion, or suggestions for seasoning we can use in it's place? She eats meat but I don't, and I don't feel comfortable cooking it. We cook separate meals pretty often, but I also like cooking for both of us for fun sometimes, so I would especially appreciate vegetarian recipes!

Thank you!
