One of my friends came over and while we were cooking they went to wash some cilantro and just put it on the bottom of my kitchen sink and started rinsing it off with water.
My sink wasn't filled with any large food bits, but there were little bits, and since I live with many roommates, my roommates would throw leftover food (or moldy food) or wash raw meats in the sink in the past. And we don't wash our sink out with soap more than once every like 3 weeks.
Though of course people are washing their hands in the kitchen sink frequently with soap, but I didn't think that would be enough.
How do people manage their kitchen sinks at home? Are they default raw/unsafe, or kept default washed and safe? What's the best solution for making it as efficient as possible when cooking at home?
