Is un-refrigerated maple syrup still good or safe to eat?

Post Body
I bought some fresh maple syrup off some Amish people earlier this year (maybe around March or April I think).
So I came home, and used some. Haven’t used it since and I forgot about it until recently.
Is it safe to eat it on pancakes or something still?

Ok. It was relatively thin so I’m not sure tbh. If it develops mold or something will it be obvious (obvious change of color, taste or smell)?

it will be hard to tell since the opening is small. But that helps thanks
