Saw this link in an article and thought the community might enjoy perusing the old cook books. The oldest dates back to 1789.
These are hand written and some are hard to read, but an interesting look back in time.

3/30/20 edit: Someone said the link was broken. You can still search for the cookbooks in the collection. Go to the "home" screen and then browse the collections. You will have options to select.
Here is the link to a search I created on the the site to get to the cookbooks, but feel free to use the other link and browse. There's some other (non-cooking) Texas history that's interesting.
