Any idea why a burner would light but the pilot won't?

This probably isnt the right place for this but I'm trying to get my Estate gas stove to light. One standing pilot lights up fine, the other won't light at all, though if I feed gas to the burners they light up just fine... with the flame at the pilot... which still refuses to light. Any ideas?
