Question for people who have worked in professional kitchens
Post Body

I recently started working in a kitchen as a part time job to help pay tuition, and I want to know if my restaurant is weird or everywhere is like this. To clarify, I had no previous professional cooking experience before this and my course of study is completely unrelated to the culinary arts.

Is lots of yelling and cursing normal? I realize fans and stuff are loud, but my voice is sometimes gone by the end of my shift.

Is it normal to feel faint and a little nauseous from time to time in a hot kitchen?

Lastly, any tips to deal with the lunch/dinner rush? It can get super busy and accidents usually happen at this time.

Thanks!
