I’m starting to learn how to cook and have only done easy recipes. I’ve tried making a simple tomato pasta twice and have used canned tomato sauce. But the pasta ends up tasting so weird. I thought maybe it was the brand of tomato sauce, and tried a different brand but had the same problem. I don’t know how to describe the taste, it’s sort of acidic and metallic. It’s really off putting. Both times I fried a large amount of minced garlic with diced onions in the pan before adding the sauce. But it doesn’t work, the metallic flavor overpowers it. The second time I added some sliced tomatoes but it did nothing. If anyone has any tips on how to fix this I would really appreciate it.
