Bought 2 fresh trout fillets today and when I took them out of the bag, they were both really slimy. I read that trout skin is supposed to be slimy, but the flesh area was too. Although skin was way more. They were kind of tangled together, so I think the slime (or at least some of it) could have come from the skin. No bad smell though. Rinsed then, cleaned with tissues (dont think I got all the slime) and they are in the oven now. But still a little suspicious about eating it.
Is it ok if trout fillet is slimy? Most of the slime was the skin, but as mentioned above, they were slimy all over.
Would appreciate the input, thanks :)
