Am I missing out by NOT using chilli (powder) when I cook Indian dishes?

I don't like spicy food so when I cook an Indian dish that uses chillis/chilli powder I don't omit the powder.
My homemade garam masala doesn't have chilli powder in it.
Am I missing out by not using chilli (powder)?
