What spices are considered regionally authentic for Santa Maria Tri Tip?
Post Body

I really enjoy the tri tip cut. It's delicious and feeds a family of four with ease without breaking the bank. I live on the east coast and am looking for a rub recipe that is considered authentic to the Santa Maria area. I've read all kinds of recipes and have found that most include:

SPG, Onion Powder, and Smoked Paprika.

I've seen a handful that call for fresh minced rosemary and cayenne.

Wondering if anyone has a regionally authentic rub recipe?
