The world is not fair. The universe is not fair. Biology is not fair. There is nothing in the natural world that is "equal". And that's okay.
Maybe you grew up in a household where equality and female empowerment was the belief, or maybe you grew up in one where there was a recognition of a different pattern in life but have found yourself in a world telling you that equality and female empowerment is the only way to go. Either way this assertion falls apart under examination.
I'm not saying women shouldn't be able to legally have credit cards in their own name or to be denied property ownership. I'm not saying we roll the clock back to the dark ages, but what I am saying is that somewhere along the way society chose a direction and there seem to be a number of women who are not feeling fulfilled. Women who crave things that seem forbidden, that they aren't "supposed" to want. Having thoughts they know would cause them to be shunned by their peers. But you know what...those thoughts are okay. Those cravings and desires are okay.
One blessing about this modern world is that we do, in fact, still have the freedom of choice. The freedom to question ourselves and our beliefs. The freedom to change ourselves into something new, or to let ourselves be changed if we so desire. The freedom to choose for you what you believe and what you allow to bring you pleasure. That goes double for those for whom it would be especially "heinous" to allow yourself to be sucked in by a man, lesbians and tops and high powered women or those who hold a position of influence as a sort of icon and the like.
Maybe it's time you gave those thoughts a voice. Come for a conversation and see what happens.
