Is there a better and more precise option for Gamecube than the official controller?

Post Body

I'm trying to play Rogue Squadron 2 and 3. When I emulate I use a Dualshock 4, but the game constantly crashes and stutters despite my hardware or the settings I use. So I busted out the gamecube and... ick. I can deal with the visuals, but the Gamecube controller has the worst analog stick. It's not precise, and now my flying is all over the place.

Is there a lag-free solution out there that's better? Like an adapter for the Dualshock 4? Does anyone here have recommendations? I'm googling this as well and doing research but I'd like to hear from a sub that is just for controllers lol.
