Hi,
I'm British and French and I mainly live in France. I work for myself and I'm currently employed by the French equivalent of an umbrella company. I do embedded software development.
For family reasons I want to spend more time in the UK. I'm currently looking for a contract in France where I can work a week or two a month remotely. Ideally I'd like to spend this time working remotely in the UK.
From what I understand, this can lead to complex tax issues. To get around this, I'm currently thinking about using two umbrella companies to invoice the same client. A UK umbrella for my time working in the UK and my French one for time spent working in France.
Do you think this sounds plausible? If I were to do this, would the UK umbrella be able to invoice the client in euros? From a legal perspective, are umbrella companies capable of dealing with contractual arrangements with another country in a different language?
If so, does anyone know of any umbrella companies in the UK that offer this kind of service?
Thanks in advance.
