Hi All,
Last week I accepted a verbal offer from an Energy company who are hiring for an experienced engineer in my field. I've never been a Contractor, i'm a senior engineer currently earning £65k pa. I was offered approx £620 per day outside IR35, which i was delighted with on a 12 month contract. I was told I would probably receive the contract this week.
To my dismay, the recruiter called me today telling me that the company have told them that they are no longer considering my service and a reason has not yet been given. The recruiter is trying to get to the bottom of this.
I'm absolutely gutted, this was a life-changing opportunity for me, contracting roles like this seem to be rare in this industry. I've told so many friends and family that i've verbally accepted a new role and in my head i have been making plans on relocating, budgeting and creating ltd company etc. This feels like a massive "rugpull" and I would rather I was told after the interview that I wasn't successful. I'm very upset, feels like I was 99% there. Has this happened to anyone else here before? How do I get over this, I feel really dejected and unmotivated now.
