I'm gonna start off by saying I don't see myself as some radical communist. I just think that as an organized civil society the best thing we could do is pool our collective resources for the long-term benefits of everyone within said society. That being said, I will admit that out of everyone around me friends, family, etc. I am possibly the most outspoken about what's wrong in our current culture and who has the loftiest ambitions for what solutions might actually be. I feel the consensus from my friends is a general "k, sure" which is a bit disheartening.
They live relatively comfortable lives and while most of them are gay/bi/pan in a fairly progressive city in a fairly progressive country (not America btw) they're also white and cis so generally there's a lot they don't have to actively worry about. In short, they're very libby brunch democrats. This makes me feel like the odd one out, especially when the subject of politics does come up. They aren't bad people just in a safe progressive bubble which leads them to have uneducated opinions on certain subjects and I don't constantly want to be in the position of being the educator/buzzkill. IF there are any other tabbys out there let me know your experiences.
small note: I'm a cis white-passing person so I recognize I too sit on a lot of privilege but at the same time I try to be informed on issues facing other minorities, from said minorities. While also trying to understand that I won't know everything since I don't face it firsthand.
