I swear this game knows just when to lag

On the Monthly Uncollected Quest. Fighting KillMonger and when I have him down to around 35% the game starts lagging. He kills my entire team. Against Ronan with my Rulk, easy fight and I come away with more health than I started. Plays smooth as silk. Then comes Wasp. Lag city. Not all the time, only when I go for a parry where she ends up 1 shotting all of my champs. Turned the game off out of frustration.
Easy fights? No lag. Harder fights? Lag City. I was surprised there was none when fighting Mojo though, but it wasn't that bad of a fight at all.
