This may be controversial. But a BFA is NOT worth it anymore. The school doesn’t prepare you for life after your degree, is what I’m hearing from most seniors, and what I’ve experienced. The disability services are SHIT, and poor at responding. They do not have good resources, and when they do they’re very expensive on top of your tuition (ie. woodshop etc). Many professors do not facilitate an environment that helps learning or growing as an artist and can be overly pretentious and dislike your art due to style (I’ve had multiple abstract professors dislike my work in regular painting drawing classes) their art history requirements are DUMB and the professors are often terrible. It’s not worth the $60,000 tuition for staff to be underpaid and housing to be $15,000 a year. It’s become a scam and lost its prestigious name quite a bit and ranking due to higher acceptance rate. Goes beyond progressive, into accepting EVERYTHING and anything (ie letting students come to class in a FULL fur suit, or with collars and tags ie very big obnoxious clothing). They pretend not to be judgemental but are. If you want to spend ur parents money and smoke and pretend to do “art” while wasting $60,000 a year this is ur place.
