I'm getting a degree in Construction Management. In this program we are learning about 3 trades. Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC along with the different codes and blue printing. I will get my wiring certificate this semester. I was wondering if you could try out different trades for a short period of time before you commit to an apprenticeship? I'm 28 so I'm too old to settle for some companies that pay as little as $11. Yes I've ran into this. But I figure if that us the case could I do it part time? While I work something that will actually pay my bills.
Currently I can't find a full time position because I have a 2 PM class 2 days a week. It's hard finding a company that will accommodate that class but the rest of my classes are at night. Trying to weigh my options.
