I'd like to ask if a type of construction/architecture exists where a non-wooden(cement, brick...) floor of a building is built with a flat roof that doesn't leak rain. Then a year or several years later another similar floor can be built on top of the 1st one. Eventually, after 2,3,4.. floors a roof is built to complete the building. The building would be an apartment complex and the years in between the bouts of construction are due to financial issues.
I'd like to ask about any info, name or link about the aforementioned, because I potentially want to build something like that.
Thank you.
