Post Body

Customer said the previous contractor only face nailed the perimiter and the rest was floating, and it seemed so. I start tearing it up and here is the sh*t i find... 3/4 in prefinished oak nailed over felty underlayment with an 18g nail gun. None of the nails actually hit the subfloor but instead curled over. Now to the next 3 hours cutting the nails from the back. Oh yeah, customer wants to reuse the planks...

Damn that sucks... Make sure to charge enough for your time.

Here's some tools that should help with the nails:

For pulling: KNIPEX Carpenters’ End Cut Pliers-Hammer Head Style https://a.co/d/iiUlwA3

For flush cutting: FastCap Pliers Macro Flush Cut Trimmers - Perfect for Carpentry and Woodworking - 80487 https://a.co/d/5fXpAPT
