Kitchen Base Cabinets and Window Sill

Post Body

Hey everyone, so I decided to turn this living room into a kitchen. The issue I’m worried about is the base cabinet height is flush with the window sill. The countertop will be probably 1” or so above the current level. Do I need to move the window up or put in a smaller window sill higher? Or is this fine. Also because these cabinets touch the window sill all of the cabinets won’t connect directly to the wall, I’m thinking I’ll have to put some wood behind the other cabinets to make sure the screws have contact throughout from cabinet to stud and to also make sure the cabinets are flush. I’ve currently only bought these two cabinets as I’m piecing together the rest of the set to not spend a ton of $ at a box store.
