Hello! I don't have anyone to share this joy with, so I'm hoping I can share with some of you strangers. This is probably one of the best things to happen to me.

I was just approved to pursue Polish citizenship by descent, basically. A more specific type though in which you have to learn the language and history, and culture, but I like it. Feels like earning it.

To the European (and especially Polish) redditors, I'm sorry if I sound like another American obsessed with having European DNA. Genuinely, I do not romanticize Europe, every place has its problems but I do think Europe does a lot of things better (culturally and healthcare - and my health isn’t the best, do not want to go into debt for that...).

If you've ever been told your great-grandparents were Polish, look into it. You can even DM me if you think you do, since I have an ancestry subscription because of my research.
