I’m getting a footing poured for a screened pool enclosure and the guy doing the work isn’t planning on putting rebar in - just using fiber mesh additive. It’s in Florida on sandy soil and the existing apron has sunk and cracked, leading to this job in the first place.
I know zero about concrete, but every other slab or footing I’ve had done had rebar, but that was up north with frost lines and such. Should I run from this guy and get a new contractor or is this normal in warmer climates?
How thick will it be? Fibermesh is pretty good stuff if it's from a quality ready mix company
