I am building a new loading rack canopy for a oil company. I have 3x7 pier caps going in between each Lane, and the company wants to put in a protection for the volume that are going to be anchored to the pier caps themselves. The protection is from 18 wheeler tanker trucks pulling in to the loading rack. Bollards are tough because there are lines in the ground, so I can drill down more than 10-12". So to me this option is out. Another option I've thought is to build an 8" thick by 3' tall horse shoe shaped concrete wall around the peir caps. The issue with this that will cover the 3' side of the caps, but the 7' side or the caps needs protecting but I cant have it he too wide in to the lane. I will attach a sketch of the general idea in commemts, except the 7' sides can't be as wide as they are in the sketch. Has anyone else come across this or have any suggestions?
