Hi! My neighbor passed away 2 weeks ago. He was a good man and weāve been helping out his wife when her family canāt. Well turns out his dad bought the property they live on the day before he was born. Apparently, this concrete pillar is a property marker. Itās right by their driveway. I would like to repair it patch it and engrave his name and birth and death date on it. I have worked with concrete pouring walls but this isnāt the same. Iāve read a few articles about patch work but I would really like to get this as close to perfect as I can. So my questions:
Should I get vinyl concrete patch repair?
Should I make a form/frame to help prevent the wet concrete from running down the slope?
Should I remove all of the outer concrete layers that arenāt chipped away?
Is it do-able or am I trying to do to much?
Would I be better off demolishing this one and pouring a new smaller one?
Any tips or ideas or suggestions are welcome!
Thank you!
The Metal Plaque is a much better idea! Didn't even cross my mind thank you!
Epoxy based concrete patcher? I had no idea they made that.
Do you think I could use just regular Crete repair to fill in the big divots till its somewhat level then hit it with the epoxy?
also thank you!

I was washing when I took the pictures and kinda had the same thought actually. Thought it might be better if I bought a plant that would grow around and up it. I wanted something to say āIāll always be hereā because his wife was telling me sheāll never leave till she dies because she knows heās not going anywhere either.
Well, it seems to me like the popular opinion has swayed my mind to leave it be.
I appreciate you and your way of thinking!
