Hey guys I have a few questions, I was a bit hesitant but you guys are so nice and friendly and knowledgeable on here!
First off, I’m currently on Generic Concerta extended release. I’m currently on 36 mg which I take every morning @ 6:30am before work w/o food.
This has worked for me to make sure I get my kicker early first thing in the morning as I work healthcare and usually my workload is the worst first thing clocking in, after 2 hours I eat a big meal which helps soften the peaks a bit and keep me on a constant level all day and wears off quicker by the end of my 10 hour shift. Lately since upping from 27mg just 3 weeks ago, I’ve noticed that I get this random eye twitch and a random tension headache and sometimes I find myself hyper focusing on my paperwork but like without any actual reason… if that makes any sense. I keep hearing about the zombie effect from my doctor and others on here but I’ve never really experienced something like that before so I don’t even know what to look for. I am a baby ADHD’Er I was just recently diagnosed back in December of ‘22 as a 23 year old. I’m told that I’m not drinking enough water but I drink about 91 oz a day due to my super active work environment. I’m told also the tension headaches could be part of the symptoms with a dosage increase but like how long is this going to last. And the hyper focus, I feel like sometimes I question if my medicine is kicked in since it’s supposed to help me with that as far as I’m told, but I can definitely tell it’s kicked in because once’s it’s worn off I can see the difference, I get jittery, all hyper active and just like as if I didn’t have my meds.
My appointment with my doctor isn’t until next week but I just wanted to see if maybe someone here went through something similar when first starting off with their meds? Want to be able to discuss w my doctor potential alternatives, supplemental meds or just bring up experiences to see how I can progress through this better.
