Purge destroyed my base

So im playing singleplayer, had a pretty nice nome, some thralls and gollems. Then it came. The terrible purge. I survived all Angry rocknose waves until the big ass rocknose came and killed everyone and started to tier appart my home. What should I do? Upgrade everything to black ice and more man power is enough? Should I set palissades or so?
