Question regarding EEWA

Important edit I totally forgot to mention: We also have Kerozards Paragon Leveling installed!

We are not sure if the server settings are set up right or if it's normal, but we've been having troubles surviving in the game with EEWA installed. Does EEWA require a change to the default 1.0 player damage multiplier to something crazy like 4-5x ?

I run a small private server for 4 of my friends but it's usually only two of us online at the same time due to work, we're all above level 60, we have just made some of the star metal weaponry and the higher tiered aquilonian armor for everyone and it doesn't seem like the armors offer enough defense or the weapons deal enough damage. We had a purge happening with some cultists. Pretty much all of them had over 4k health and we died hard. I know purges can be random in difficulty and we probably got the worst one we could have, but still, that made us feel very weak and we've been noticing it ever since. We feel severely under geared even against a regular animals sometimes. All the armor pieces and weapons are buffed with thick armor platings and advanced weapon damage kits but it still feels like our defense and offense isn't what it is supposed to be.

Now we are not pros, and we have very little, mostly starting knowledge about the game (and pretty much nothing about the mod itself). We just learn as we go, at least that's how we were so far. I did change the player damage multiplier from 1.0 to 1.5, and the damage taken from 1.0 to 0.8 so keep that in mind.

Considering that our latest ore/tool unlock is the star metal ones, I did some light testing based on the northern area. My armor is a set of epic Yamatai Demon medium armor with a combined armor of 640, weapon is the epic Yamatai katana with a health damage of 54 (Agility maxed out), with 348 max health.

With the above gear:

Sabretooth takes 29-30 light attack hits to kill, it deals around 30-38 damage per hit

Frost Giant takes 28-30 light attack hits to kill, it deals around 28 damage per hit

We are based in the jungle, so I tried my stuff against enemies there too

Gray ape takes 8 light attack hits to kill, it deals around 20-21 damage per hit

Gorilla takes 10 light attack hits to kill, it deals around 20-22 damage per hit

It takes forever to kill something if it's alone, and almost a death sentence if there is another nearby. Based on these numbers, would you say that the damage/defense is ok? Should we have this much trouble with the norther enemies? Should we be dealing more damage, or have 4 times as much armor? These are literally the best gear we can make right now. Nothing is higher tiered than them. Should I change the player damage to an ever higher percentage?

Now that's a lot of blahblah and you might immediately see the problem, but we don't, so if you have any experience with this mod and could help us out we would appreciate the help. We don't really want a guide, just someone with experience to say whether something isn't right in our server settings, or if this is how it should be but we should be way higher leveled... thought I don't see how that matters since it seems like we are not getting any more attribute points after level 60... but anyways, yea. Any help is appreciated.
