Hi everyone. :) I have a lot of fun playing Overwatch, including competitive, and my ranks vary greatly. I main support and hover around gold 1/plat 5, for dps I'm bronze, and for tank I'm silver.
I am not sure if I'm wrong for this, but sometimes I'll apologize to my team for doing poorly on tank or dps, trying to make light of the situation by joking that I have a "support main brain".
More than once (even without saying anything) I've been told that I should only play comp in my strongest role. My profile is public so everyone is free to see that support is by far my best role.
Is this something that is widely believed? I guess my perspective is, if I'm a bronze dps, then I should be matched with people at a similar skill level so it shouldn't matter if it's my weakest role. But part of me is worried that I am holding my team back. I try my absolute best but sometimes the stats make it very obvious that I'm not keeping up with my counterparts (especially on tank). But then other times, the opposite happens. It feels very random sometimes.
How do you guys feel about people playing comp on their "weaker" roles?
