I don't think that's true I just think he has a very specific niche. Like I think Edi has the best tracer, hanzo, and reaper on the team which is why he played the whole first tournament but the meta right now prefers more flexibility so you wouldn't play Edi tracer over sparkle because you may need genji or echo
He did come in on the sojourn on the push map against NYXL not because he is better than guriyo on that hero but because he was able to flex to the sombra better than guriyo could. I think the better that guriyo gets at the rest of his heroes that what you say becomes more and more true but I think he is in a fine place right now to get play time.
In case anyone was wondering guriyo also streams on twitch and will use both korean and english during the stream. He's really sweet and responds to most messages in chat!
Pretty sure they just played edi on sojourn because he was better able to flex to the sombra which is why they were able to win the match. Guriyo mentioned on stream last week about how he has trouble with sombra in scrims.

I believe that pros have a different version which has bots while the closed beta does not have bots. Someone asked him for the code on his stream last week and he said the code was on his pro account and then being the best tried to make a workshop for someone but realized that he wasn't able to do that in the beta. I could have a wrong understanding of what happened so don't quote me maybe he just didn't have it on hand.
