TL;DR At Bottom
I was looking at the Fusion's schedule for this stage and saw how they play a few back to back games (playing a game two days in a row) over the weeks. This got me to wondering about how many each team has, how fair the scheduling is, and how well each team performs in the second game of a back to back (but this will come later in the season when there is more data).
All data was gathered from the Overwatch League website, specifically the schedule page. Did it by hand so there might be some errors, but hopefully not. Since there are 4 stages with 5 weeks each, a team could have 20 weeks where they play back to back games. Now without further delay, here is what I found.
Teams that play back to back games 3 different weeks: Valiant, Dragons, Gladiators, and Fuel.
Teams that play back to back games 5 different weeks: Shock, Dynasty, and Outlaws,
Teams that play back to back games 7 different weeks: Spitfire, Mayhem, Fusion, and Excelsior.
Teams that play back to back games 9 different weeks: Uprising.
Uprising really got the short end of the stick here as the only team to have the most amount of weeks with back to back games with 9.
The team with most weeks with a back to back games in a single stage is Spitfire with 4 of 5 weeks of Stage 2 having back to back games for them.
This shows the scheduling could probably use some work. Hopefully that will improve over the seasons and with more teams joining in the future.
I am going to come back to this at the end of the year and see how each team plays in their 2nd games of a back to back. It makes sense that a team would do poor in those games possibly due to exhaustion, not having more time to prep for the next game, or some other factors.
TL;DR Uprising play most back to backs (9). Valiant, Dragons, Gladiators, and Fuel play the least back to backs (3). IMO scheduling could be better. Will come back to at end of season to see how back to backs affect each team.
