Hi all, I know there have been some complaints about spoilers on Twitch and Overwatch League when games can't be watched right away or you tune in a little late. I've seen two issues so far - one is that if you check https://overwatchleague.com to see the schedule, it immediately shows the live match with score and so on. The second is that on Twitch the individual map VODs and their timestamps are uploaded. It lets you know if games went to 4 or 5 games, how long they lasted etc.
So, to try and fix this I wrote a small chrome extension called the 'OWL unSpoiler'. Right now, the features are somewhat limited. Currently:
- Hide single map VODs on Twitch from the Video Page listing, only showing "Full Match" games
- Auto-pauses the Twitch OWL main page if a live game is going on to prevent spoiling the current outcome
- Hide the game score on https://overwatchleague.com so you can navigate to the site without spoilers.
Upcoming features:
- Allow for customization of individual features on/off toggle
- Add new features to continue working on hiding of spoilers in other ways
- Auto-pause the video on https://overwatchleague.com (can only be implemented and tested when games are live)
- Something with the progress bar?
If you have any questions/comments/concerns please let me know. This is very much in the early stages and will need a lot of refinement, so any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
