Will Roadhog *really* be useless after his buffs?

Post Body

I posted something yesterday in the main Overwatch reddit about how I, unlike 99% of the apparent playerbase, am actually looking forward to playing the New Hog.

It's currently up in the "controversial" section as I expected, mostly due to people still being annoyed at ruining the fantasy of Roadhog, which I understand and respect even if I don't personally agree with.

But with the Dinoflask, Competitive Stats and Jeffs Summer-trolling currently on the front page, people are once again complaining that he's going to be useless even when the changes come in, and I just want to actually talk about that fact in particular.

Here's my logic on the matter: Moving and fortifying while healing is going to allow him to consistently be at high health, while still remaining in the fight. People keep circle-jerking about old Hog countering dive, (Although from what I've read and remember hearing that wasn't the case.) but new Hog should probably counter it in a different way.

The walking-ult-battery moniker he has isn't going to matter as much if you can unleash an entire ultimate at him and the guy still doesn't die. So if you actually use him as a front-line tank with supportive heals, while hooking key enemies away from their current targets and then face tanking them, his practical immortality is going to require the enemy team to either focus him first, or try and cope with this guy continually dishing out damage and re-positioning them. (Think trying to play around Symmetra in a team fight, you kill her first, or you probably die.)

On top of that, the hook to keep enemies close by, as well as being able to heal in safety while in the open, I can see Hog as working as a "bouncer" to guard against flank routes. He might not one shot a single flanker anymore, but will be able to basically bodyblock two, maybe even three of them while his team takes on the rest. Also hunting down stragglers afterward without worrying about death also fits with what I consider a "one-man apocalypse" to actually be.

I don't know if his modified breather alone is going to make him top-tier, (My guess though is probably he still needs an extra tweak or two.) but I do defiantly see a niche and unique playstyle that comes from the direction hes being taken that I would consider both fun and effective.

Whats you guy's opinion on this idea?
