OK I'm a bit salty right now, but I try to keep it as reserved as possible. Two weeks ago I started to become rather inactive with playing rankeds. Only once in a while I'd do my games and I settled around 3.1 - 3,3k SR. a decent/mediocre Diamond player. The games were fun and you had a basic level of communication and game understandings going. Once in a while you would have some negative experiences because some people chose to be douches for whatever reason. But in general it was OK for a random competitive community.

Now I started to be active again and do my regular ranked games and I'm pretty shocked. I startet at around 3,1k and during the last 20 games, I had like 2 or 3 which felt at most "OK". The rest was just a giant mess of negativity. Most of the time there would be people, who can do nothing constructive but insulting others for their mistakes. There are people who ruin the game by smurfing and/or "boosting a friends acc", people who would intentionally afk/throw the game, if they can't play their main. I don't have the feeling like I had any control about what is happening. I'm at 2,7k and by now you should think, that you can carry yourself out of this mess, but it's not happening. It feels like games are decided by which team has the better smurf or fewer trolls. It's more of a gambling of negative influences than a skill matchup.

I know I can just group up with decent people to avoid this as much as possible, but the problem still exists. Where did all this negativity come from lately? Did anything major happen to the game? Or is it just me having super bad luck with recent games?
