Hi guys,
I'm coming from a Counter Strike back ground and have played ow2 for a couple of seasons I hit diamond 2 pretty easily one tricking Cassidy and recently ive noticed that the higher rank i go the more important it is to consistently hit head shots and not rush my flick shots that his aim is more about tracking than flicking.
What i've also discovered is the recoil compensation setting on/off........ now I've played with them both on and off and had varying results on different maps and have an opinion and like to see if its matched.
I find that with it on because it forces your crosshair to the same spot no matter how hard you pull down this is actually a negative impact on your ability to aim since the new patch with more HP enemies its more crucial than ever to hit all your headshots.
The reason I believe it's negative is the new Pharah is being slept on a lot of people think she's D tier or w/e but she's actually a mega demon for us hit scans that aren't soldier 69 because tracking her with sustained damage and needing to run to avoid her new movement mechanics.... she moves with the agility of an Armored Core mech from the games and her ultimate is now terrifying now playing on the floor of high ground especially with her ultimate take shambali monstary defense on second point she can float out of the window behind your team pushing cart up the ramp boost in and ultimate the TTK for me on mcree i cant actually nail her fast enough to stop it completely and if im on Ashe sitting back she's still hard to hit because of how she flys vertically changing her head hit box on a lot of up and down.
My question is that if recoil recovery on is designed to help you hit more head shots because it resets the crosshair to the spot it was when it fired doesnt that mean that you're disadvantaged against anyone that is able to move their angle of trajectory of their head after the first shot? a good example is ive shot Anna players in the head for them to panic and throw their anti at their feet whilst jumping and to head shot her in mid air isnt actually possible because you cant move your mouse to the higher angle with it on?
I'm wondering what GM players think of this on or off as i can see it being a beneficial setting in a game like CS where we take gun fights much more often on flat terrains so keeping head height is impotant but we also have the freedom of adjusting to if we dink someone on a ramp the second dink we can connect if theyre moving up or down the ramp changing height.
I'm very confused by this setting and feel as though it's holding me back but a lot of people that are GM say keep it on its better for your muscle memory... but that argument to me doesnt make sense as muscle memory is the memory of up down left and right not just left and right..?
