I understand that more often than not failure to release the promised product is a result of gross mismanagement, as is the case with OW2. But in every single thread, I see people claiming that the developers are entirely blameless, deserve no heat and that we should not be mad at them for the situation.
But what have the developers actually been doing these past 6 years? Ignoring everything that was promised, what notable change have they made to the game that wasn't already present in community mods? What has been updated? Nothing in the game has been significantly changed to make me believe these developers weren't using tools already made available by the OW1 dev team. Yes, artists have been making skins, they've made some new maps that require time. But nothing has been done to fundamentally change any aspect of the game. I mean seriously, nothing new has been made. So what have these developers actually been doing?
