I got Legend two seasons ago and got to rank 1 last season, but work has been busy and the wife's full blown double-pregnant so I don't have time for the grind this season. So I decided to mess around deckbuilding instead.
I tried a Shadowform deck which peaked at rank 8 but then stagnated, so I made a midrange warlock deck focused around deathrattles and killing your own minions. After a little tweaking I eventually got it from rank 9 to rank 5 with an ~80% win rate. This deck has a ton of fun combos and you can sometimes overwhelm the board with three big guys on turn 5, or set up crazy chain reaction lethal combos...but the combo cards are all pretty flexible, so even though it seems gimmicky I think it might actually be consistent enough to get to Legend if I had the time.
I put the decklist on Hearthpwn with a short, very off the cuff guide. Alternatively here's an imgur screenshot.
