Tips (or even sparring partner) for Shinobi

Yeah it was all nice and easy till matchmaking started to match me with higher level people. Now my shinobi ranged attacks are almost useless and yeah basically whole thing I can catch people off guard is light attacks and with some mind games kicks. If someone would like to help me theoretically or practically I'd greatly appreciate it and take it
